Is Harley leather jackets good quality ?
I'm not a real big fan of paying for a name brand, but I tried on a Harley jacket at the dealer and it fits perfect.
Should I get it or would I be better to get a different brand in the same price range ?
It's 340$

$340 isn't bad for a Harley jacket, if you like it.
But:
1. Harley Davidson isn't much of a "name" in leather and for less than $340 I can easily find a real name-brand American leather jacket, like Schott.
2. Compare the HD jacket to a better quality one like Schott and you'll discover it's way too thin and soft to be a motorcycle jacket.
3. Never pay more for Chinese Leather than American - we may suck at making some things, but nobody makes better leather products.
The only downside to Foxcreek full leather jackets for warm climates is they are VERY thick and that can be an issue even with vents in July and August.
I wear a Foxcreek vest during the summer in NC, it is very thick but also allows good airflow, a nice trade off here given the heat.
I have 2 fxrg jackets first one is so nice I bought another in case i lose the first one.they list for 799+
I got 1 for 150 and the other for 100 both perfect condition 1 had a couple rally pin holes
thanx craig list
always look on ebay and CL b4 giving the cash to the dealer.
just bought 2k in harley shirts for $150. every one with a fresh dryclean tag in them...
1000 dollar heated seat $50
$1600 tour pak $200
see a pattern?
good luck
$340 this one comes with dinner for two http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac...596941149.html
O trust me I don't
I just don't wanna pay 340$ for something that's gonna fall apart.
Don't worry it's not gonna fall apart. Like I mentioned in my previous response I have 4 of them. One is heavy as can be for winter, one is light weight with air vents for spring, fall, and summer. one is a baseball style for anything goes and one is a textile for rain. So far none have let me down and each has served their purpose well.

Shift jacket is higher quality than the HD jacket but comes in at a similar price if you check on line retailers. Almost all larger gear retailers carry major brands like Shift, Alpine Stars, Dainese, Rev'It etc. all of which are higher quality than HD branded stuff. Prices are often better too, due to increased competition.
My wife just got an FXRG jacket brand new from the dealer in the discount rack listed for just over $600, but we picked it up for around $250. Removable armor, removable inner liner that doubles as a light jacket, pockets everywhere... its really nice.
FXRG gear is probably the only jacket I would pick up from the dealer. The rest is overrated IMHO.
I have a Firstgear Scout jacket I picked up on clearance a couple years ago that has many of the features of the FXRG stuff. I think I paid around $150 for it. My only error was I bought a size too big, but it doesn't bother me much since I only use it during the cold months and usually have a layer underneath.
If I had to pick up another heavy jacket, my first choice would be Fox Creek (if I could find one used/on clearance).
