Default Touring bike Handlebar risers?

I know this has been asked before. I read the entire older post on this, last post comment was is June of 2010 and the topic had changed to handle bars riders are using because no one could finder risers for Touring bikes. Has this changed? Is there a manufacturer making one now? I have searched and found nothing. So, I decided to make a set after a 220 mile ride. It began rather simple for me which I'm sure is a similar sad story for other riders. The stock handlebars were too short for my height challenged body. I tried 3 different handlebars and like the three bears story, one was too tall one was too low and one was too short. The one I loved the most was the wild one chubby which are equal to the full beach bars. Even though they were too short I used them thinking my body would get acustomed to them and life would be good. Not so much. I felt like I was hunched over and several inches too short(arms reach). I found my self saying if only they were 6" higher and 4" back.

Why doesn't someone make kick back risers? No one heard me. So I did what I've done with other aspects on my bike. Modified them to suit my taste. The idea came to me one dark night. Instead of making a traditional riser I decided to think outside the box and came up with an external riser. The idea seemed crazy but once built and mounted it seemed nice comfortable, to me anyways. I been using this in prototype mode for over two weeks riding 5 days a week 220 miles a day and I am still smiling when I get off the bike. I can't figure out how to post the pics, but if someone who is more savy at this is willing to post them I'll be glad to send them to get-r-done for feed back from other riders.

Folks have suggested the Heritage bars for a Road King, but I just rotated mine so the hands are in a higher position.

When I was at Street Vibes and stopped in at Chester's HD, I got to talking to the GM from Snake Harley. He let me sit on his 2012 RG Ultra which was lowered to match the RG custom (26 inches or so seat height) and he had heritage bars on. It made a huge difference, as I didn't feel like I was leaning forward to hold the handlebars like on the stock RG custom on the showroom floor.

I do use Wild1 Chubby Road Glide bars on my FXST. Those bars have a great pullback and I don't have to reach for the bars. Something to consider if you don't want to modify your current setup.

Hey all I see Bill posted the pictures for me Thanks a bunch Bill!!!

As you guys can see this is a prototype design thus the ruff edges on the top plate and the funky clamps. I have a machinist working on a 1" handlebar clamp to go with the top plate. I just checked my friends Road King and found that this same set up will work on them as well. This should also work on all other models that use the 5 1/2" cover that goes over the handlebar clamps. This will not fit the Street Glide because that model uses an extra wide cover over the handlebar clamps.

Soon as the handlebar clamps get cut I'll post other pictures. I also noticed a small change(measurement) needed that I will correct on my next set for better clerance on the fork lock.

If any one is interested check back, I'll keep you posted on the progress.
