So, is this bike very good. I dont think I'm a total "noob" since i've ridden Dirtbikes and quad forever, but would this be a good bike for an intermediate level rider. Given when I get a bike I will go to one of them Motorcycle Safety Classes, but will this bike be a slug?

Good learner ride. Intermediate would be much bigger (aka whatever you want).
so, would I want to go right to a sportster or FXST?
What about the Buell Ulysses?
I would say any, depending on what riding you want. The Sporty is a cruiser good in the curves. The softtail your std cruiser that you can do anything but aggressive carving (parts dragger). The Ulysses a high rider that would out corner the sporty. Along the lines of a BMW or a KTM900.
If you can ride at all, the Blast would not last for you.

I'd say take the safety course before buying anything, then decide. If you've got a good bit of dirt bike experience, you'll probably be just fine on a Softail or a Dyna right from the start.

see the thing is, i've ridden DBs a little, never owned one. But, I've been on quads since I was 9. Are there any traits riding-wise that I can share with quads and bikes?

ATVs are vastly different. You approach turns different, and there is no balance technique for them. Dirt bikes do transfer to street, tho.

Then I would pay particular attention to mid controls vs forwards controls. The Dyna SuperGlide (a bike that I'd suggest as one you may want to consider) with it's mid foot controls(more like a dirt bike's) will feel more familiar to you than a bike with forward controls.
With the Superglide you've got a big twin engine right from the start and it's easy to change the mid controls to forwards if you want 'em that way in the future.
Bigger and heavier than the Buell's and Sportsters so you'd need to be more careful during low speed riding, parking etc,but it'll much better for you when you get out on the highway or if you have a passenger on the back.
