Just bought a set of wheels off of a Deuce, front and rear. I plan to put them om my FXST cause the front wheel is a bit pitted and I prefer a disc on the rear. On my last one I installed one off of a Fat Boy --a Night Train look.
Not sure if I like this Deuce wheel. Yeah or Neah, your opinions appreciated...
I like the Duece rear wheel... If it's cleaned and polished.
They do look pretty bad if not meticulously maintained - worse than a lot of other wheels.
Another thing I did to mine that gives it a little more "pop" is painted the rough cast portion between the ribs. See attached pic.
That is a great idea. Going to paint mine so it won't look so fugly. I bought a HD Thunderstar front rim, HD did not offer a Thunderstar for the rear (go figure). Only thing you can do, is go to custom wheels or get one of those after market chrome rear deuce rims.

There is no bigger waste of money than wheels, if you do eventually get a nice set it's only a matter of time before the bike is stolen. If I replaced every part that pitted a little I would be rotating parts every three years, its just character.

I did the black paint to mine years ago when the bike was fairly new. In all the years since I've never seen another one like it. I hope too many people don't see this and like the idea LOL.
It's kinda nice having something as simple as this that adds so much the the appearance - and not seeing the same thing at every bike night you go to.
