Question Harley makes a chubby style 12" mini-ape for your FLHR

Ok, So I looked at these bars frm my local HD shop part number 56832-04A has anyone used these bars and set up? were talking bars, cables, internal wiring out the door price of $1600 installed. Now I've worked on my 2K sportster myself for the last 10 yrs but all this new TBW stuff has me a bit worried. I'm 5'7" inseam 29-30". I currently have 12" apes on my sportster and they are comfortable to me with that said does any one have and side view shots of these bars on their RK like to get some kind of idea as to where your hands end up (besides on the grips that is). I'm picking the bike up (it's being delivered on dec 12th) and i get her on dec 16th. talking with the sales guy he can order the parts and have them installed by the time I get home and pick her up. thoughts, suggestions? thanks.

$1,600.00 for handle bars? Holy crap! Buy the bars someplace else, and find an indy to install them. Still gonna be expensive, but not $1600 worth.

I just realized that you don't have your bike yet. I'd work some kind of deal out to have those bars included in the deal. Especially if you haven't signed any paperwork yet.

I can get you all the parts for far less. Install them yourself and spend what is left over on something else for your ride. The TBW is simple.

Go with 14" Wild Ones bars. I have the 12.5" and while I do like them, I would get 14" if I did it again.

Oh, and the job is really easy except for the internal wiring. I paid an indy to wire the bars and did the rest myself.

Dr. VTwin,

I take it that you work in a indy shop? what kind of price we looking at? I'd like to go no higher than 14" on the apes. I was looking at the WO's. I have no problem having my local indy shop (local 81) do the work, good group of guys that work there and very helpful. As I stated I have no problems working on my sportster but all this electronic stuff I know nothing about. The $1600 most of which was parts the labor came out to $540.... you can ping me off line with the running tally at mahansc@gmail.com thanks...

I priced WO bars and cables/wires (ABS lines too) at around 850 at this place http://hdbikeparts.com/

Can't see paying someone another 800 bones for labor.

My 2 cents
