Dude I feel your pain. I had a similar but less troublesome experience with a shop. I don't care why you wanted a built motor, nitrous or why you used that shop, none of that matters now, except to some JA that wants to rub salt in your wounds. Finding a shop to trust now will be very very hard to do after what happened to you. Best of luck in your quest to get the bike road/trust worthy again.
This is why lawyers are wealthy. Sue these *uckers for every dime, Poor workmanship, deception, I sure more charges apply. Good Luck and make sure everyone you know hears this story... that hits them where it hurts.
No self respecting lawyer would want to touch this. UNLESS HE OWNES THE BIKE THERE IS NOTHING IN IT FOR HIM! A lawyer would cost more than the POSSIBLE gains!!
SMALL CLAIMS IS THE WAY TO GO! If you could come to a half way decent settlement, go with it. Lesson learned - Time to move on
make sure everyone you know hears this story... that hits them where it hurts
I'm sorry, I know it's your bike and your money, but if I'd have wanted that extensive of mods to a stock bike I'd of seriously considered a "brand name" bike builder do one to my specification and used the stock bike as a trade or sold it to offset some of the cost. I could never trust that bike again. Good luck with it and keep us up to date on how it works out.
Dude: You took your bike to a shop that has the word "zoo" in their name?
Although that is funny, here are 2 other shops that have good reps that have what I think are similarly ridiculous names: Cycle-Rama and Zippers, no offense meant, I just don't like those names.
I'd leave the bike in the street with the ignition unlocked, maybe you will get lucky and someone will "take" it off your hands...ins claim to follow...
You my friend, would be crazy not to secure the services of a competent attorney! I am the first to condmen frivolous law suits. This would not be a frivolous suit. With your documentation, you should get back at a minimum, a settlement you can live with. That is a total butcher job. My 10 year old does better work when he is working with me on bikes. Don't let that go...Good Luck
