I wear a pair of Hein Gericke Insulated Leather Bib overalls when I take a ride in the cold,I do own a pair of chaps but never wear them always wear the bibs.

I have a pair of leather overpants from jaminleather.com and they work great. They also have bib overalls.

I have the overpants on the top right. Lined, expandable waist. Just buy them 2 inches larger than your waist size.

Been riding for 40 years, and have never owned a pair of chaps. Never saw the need for them, really. If it's cold, put on some longjohns. I don't know, chaps always looked kinda goofy/leather boy to me.

It depends on how cold and how long the ride, what I wear.
Jeans
Long johns and jeans
Jeans and chaps
Long johns, jeans and chaps
Electric bib overalls(can also add the jacket liner, gloves and even socks if need be.)

Insulated coveralls are great when I walk my dogs, but I'm only walking 4 mph - at about 55 it would take a WHOLE lot of insulation to equal a thin piece of leather.

I purchased Firstgear leather overpants, water resistance, rubberized zippers, vents. And they are on closeout at MG.com. I wear them we suspenders. No complaints!
