Default chaps???

I told my wife I want a leather jacket and chaps for Christmas. She mention overalls. So I got to wondering which is better chaps or overalls?

uuuhhmmm? Overalls, or leather chaps? Not sure if that look alone will be tough enough,,,However, it might work with an SOA leather vest...I'm not a slave to fashion...but you can't fail with "assless" chaps, SOA vest and a skull bandana...oh yeah, make sure you make the "potato, potato" sound too, completes the ensemble...Good Luck!!

OK, I'll be serious. I have not tried overalls but I imagine they would be warmer. However, I do use chaps when it is cold and they work well. They also roll up somewhat small for carrying on the bike when not wearing them. They are also easy and quick to put on or take off. Chaps have served me well and nobody has ever given me any chit about wearing them. At least not to my face.

Leather chaps will block the wind, and therefore keep the cold off of you, better than cotton overalls.

I like chaps myself. They're easy on easy off easy storage. You can get a good buy at leatherup.com. I'd get some that have the slash pockets like jeans. Good luck.

chaps are usually leather, overalls aren't. But leather overalls....not sure how that would look...

Depends on how much cold weather riding you do. I would think cover-alls would provide more warmth, more coverage. Never used either one myself. Long Johns under my jeans seems to work fine but my cold rides are usually short - about 30 minutes to work in the mornin'. My hands always go numb way before any other part of me. Legs just ain't been an issue.

Honestly I could less what people think of me just as long as I'm comfortable and enjoying my ride. I'm already catching a lot of hell from my in laws about wanting them. BTW they ride also just not year round. Anywho thanks for the fast replies and I think I'm going with chaps.
