It is hard for me to believe how many of you have so much money to through away and tell others pay cash or you don't deserve it. you brag on paying cash or doing without, you put down others for shopping around for deals, not wanting to pay top dollar and msrp with no questions.
you quoted me, so i hope that the above is not directed towards me. i am a cheap bastage, my wife says that i'm so tight i squeak when i walk, so i am always looking for deals. i don't have a lot of money to throw around, hell, i'm retired military, non-com not commissioned either so you know i don't make a lot. i've had 6 harleys (3 for me, 3 for the wife) and if i had to pay cash outright for any one of them, i probably would still not have one. i can afford the down payment, i can afford the monthly payments. and i would not begrudge anyone who had to finance their toys. i figure i can be saving the money and be miserable until i have it, or i can finance it, pay a little finance charge (i shop for good rates), and have it and enjoy it now.
Me too but be careful with this. You have NO control over when your payment will be posted to your account and at the end of the loan, you might have to pay additional money to be able to get your title. 1 day here, 2 days there ..... see what I mean?
If you don't pay the balance in full, they still own the bike so they don't care.
Yep, they will definitely figure in a day or two worth of interest and you better pay it or you won't get the title. It's funny how they get so uptight about that dollar or two.
My banks 'Billpay' allows me to enter the date that I want the payment actually made. If the biller doesn't accept electronic payments then the bank sends a paper check. In this case the check could arrive a day or two early but the money is in the account anyway (or I wouldn't have scheduled a payment in the first place) so I don't worry about it.
I pay all my bills with paper checks, I keep a record, they keep a record and all is good.
Plus...it keeps people working and that's another good thing.
You didn't know? Only a Dyna Low Rider is a manly man's bike....
But you need to average 3,500+ posts a year telling the world about it.
OK, I get it. If I ride ny lowrider I'm a man, if I ride my roadking I'm a girl. Guess that means when I ride my sportster I'm a sissy? Thanks for clarifying.
without reading all the way to the last page i have to ask one question. why the hell should anyone care how someone else pays for their ****?
Because somewhere down the road, it usually affects what you and I have to pay for our $hit. Sometimes things get out of control, and you have to take the big boys to the wood shed. If we do not all stand together, we all get reamed individually.
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac ring any bells? Get ready, the 20-25%interest rates are coming.

Well I think a little revollt is in order here, Harley Davidson Financial Services Just changed it's rules. I owe about a grand on my 09 FXD and have always made my payments via my Bank account at no charge. Now you are required to pay through the HDFS website, unless I sign up for Direct Scheduled Payments (no service fee) through the HDFS site, there will be a 6 dollar charge made when I pay through them. A I am on a fixed Income and prefer a bit of flexibility on my payment schedule. So it looks like I'll just go back to writing a paper check at my convenience. Which is more Labor and time for the Bank... I just don't get it. Has Greed just taken over. Your thoughts??
I'm setup on Bill Pay threw the bank I'm with. Its free with my bank.
I pay HDFS before the payment is due. Never heard about being charged for doing it that way.
I owed 14,000 last january, I owe about 3000 now.
