As said above, the only thing it might hurt would be the coil or electronics, as they do not like not having a ground for the spark. Since it started up OK, I would not worry about anything else. Most of the gas would have been blown out the tail pipe. Ride it like nothing happened.
I had an old car that ran a few miles with a couple of cyliners not firing. I drained the oil and found a gallon of gas mixed with the oil. Change it for sure.
Yea, changed plugs today. Will change oil this week when my shipment from Amsoil comes in. I was planning on changing oil so not wasting anything there.
Uh, no.... And he heard about it.... A case of trying to impress his buddies I think. I want him to get involved in bikes, but there is a limit I told him. He is almost 20, and no, no one else except him and my wife know where the keys are.
Pull the plug wire and let his little *** hold it while you hit the button , be a very long time before gets near it again without permission .
It's all good now.... He's a good kid and knows better now. He won't do it again, in fact I'm sure he won't go on that side of the garage for awhile. It could have been a lot worse but it wasn't. It's just part of the fun raising three boys I guess. I never leave the keys to the bike lying around and I forgot them on the bench so I made it easy for him.
I'm with the kid, did something like it when I was a 13 not 19, I took the old mans 250 sprint for a ride (was he ever pissed ) I got an a$$ beating and told not to do it again. one month later he sent me to do chores at the other farm " I was driving the tractors and pickup by then" I took the bike again when I came back He asked what the hell I thought I was doing, I said it was faster and used less gas than the pickup. He got in the truck and went to town and came back with a new bike for him and told me the sprint was mine and not to ever get on his bike. AND MY LOVE OF BIKES BEGAN
