I stopped at the Missou / Arkansas state line to put my helmet on since Missou is a helmet state and had two separate bikes stop to ask if my bike was broke down. Whenever I see a couple riders or more stopped I've always assumed it was a rest break.
I always stop for someone pulled over. If I'm pulled over, I don't expect anyone to stop. Life's too short to get all pissed off by other people not meeting your expectations.
I always try to see if someone needs help. Once time there was a guy on the side of the road, I gave him the thumbs sign and he looked confused so I turned back and pulled up to him, as soon as I stopped, he jumped on his bike and took off like a scared kid...LOL

I found that very few harley riders return the wave, and most metric riders do. Not really sure what this is all about, but i still throw it out there usually. As for helping folks, I look for the thumbs up and thumbs down, one time i even replaced a ladies radiator hose in her car, when it burst in a parking lot. I am always willing to help folks out, even on things like "ran out of gas" on a long stretch of road, and yes i do keep a length of narrow tubing on my bike, I guess it is just habit from before bikes had gas gauges.
