BUY IT, then you can tell the rest of us what you think. That way I will not make the same mistake by sitting on one also.
You will have to wait. Plan A is to take one on a demo ride and then..... This way I will know before buying if it is the right bike for me. Luckily, it is snowy here which keeps me from making quick/emotional/thoughtless decisions.
Looked at both the new ones . While they are not a style bike for me I like both of them.
I am sure some will have issue with them but I hope they find a market.
The 72 IMO looks great and if you want something that sit low you got it. I like the real tires on it not over sized to look cool they fit the ride.
Yesterday I stopped by the dealer to talk to a couple of friends that work there. While I was there I decided to take a look see after reading this thread. Well it sure is nice looking and it does sit low, I thought long and hard before sitting on it because of the conversation going on in this thread.
With that said, I sat on it anyway, it felt nice enough, although I was not impressed with the balance of this bike. Not sure why, it just seemed a little off balance (maybe because it was not set up yet, and only a showroom model).
Just my $0.02
Interesting comment. I had the same thought but dismissed it thinking I needed more upper body strength and just use to a lighter bike.

Look at a new or different bike just a new lover , everything is the same but very different till you try it . Sometimes it's gonna rock your world others you won't be back and looks do not tell the story .
Good luck whatever your decision , you don't strike me as one who is frivolous in actions or decisions .
If you've got payments on what you ride now, I'd say get the new one. Payments is payments. so what if they might be a git more or a bit longer. If what you ride now is paid for, I'd listen to your mantra and ride what you have.
Dickey, your too selective. Ok granted some models are not the finished product in factory form, but can always mod-em to get the end result you want, right ? I do think the design team needs a "refresh". And have to wonder about the logic in a couple of the discontinued models, but seems to be a style for most out there. That paint dept needs to be fired.
Gotta be selective when you're spending the kinda kaboosh they're getting for these bikes, which ain't worth anywhere NEAR what they ask for 'em...considering their recent reliability record.
Actually, I think the paint is the best feature of the new Harleys--no other maker has the paint quality or color selection of a Harley. Yes--they're logic seems flawed when they get rid of models like the NightTrain, Low Rider, and Softail Custom for some of the abominations they have spawned in recent years--they need to change their crack dealer!

dickey! i thought the new wideglides had you tempted?
They're great riding bikes, and look great 'till you get to the rear fender--the rear section is too short for the rest of the bike. Wish the Co would stop with that factory "bobbed" crap.
I planted my butt on the new Softtail Slim. What a sweet bike!
I have been repeating....Ride what you have, ride what you have. Don't even think about it!
Great bike for the vertically challenged! Can't wait to hear a review of this bike from an owner.
My wife just traded in her 883L yesterday for the slim.....couldn't get the grin off of her face and she says the difference in the ride is night and day. She is a bit vertically challenged at 5'2. The seat height is great for her, she can finally flat foot it. The only thing we had to change was to get the reduced reach seat. This moved all the controls closer so that she could reach everything comfortably.
