I havn't really heard much positive about the HD heated grips so I ended up getting heated gloves. With the gloves there is heat all around your hands instead of just on your palms. Just my 2 cents
One of the tricks with heated grips in winter time is to use them with a set of Hippo hands. My unit rides 52 weeks a year in the northeast in temps down into the teens, and heated grips work best when with the Hippo Hands forming an air pocket around your hands. No matter how good the heated grip is, at highway speed the airflow will suck heat from the exposed part of your hands.
I think if I end up going with heated grips I will not use HD's I will look into the heat demons or see if the brand symtec makes them for harleys I have a set of those on my wheeler and they are the best thing since sliced bread.........................
