I know there are a million threads here about apes. From what I can tell they are about comfort. My question is about handling, I just put 16" apes on my flstc. The bike is lowered 2" in the rear. I pick it up on monday, my question is what kind of cornering, handling characteristic changes should I be aware of. I know when I ride it I will figure it out quick, but any insight would be appreciated.
I had 16's on my Heritage and have 16's on my Sportster. It's just a get used to transition. It'll feel different at first until you're used to it. Same with a new seat that raises you up or lowers you down. It'll feel different at first but after a couple rides it'll handle like you never changed. At least that's how it was for me. I also find the apes much more comfortable than stock bars. No lower back stress.
I've had 16 ' apes on my last 3 bikes...Would never go back to anything else till im to old...If your all about speed and twistys then these aint the bars for you...But if you just wanna keep up with the speed limit or a bit more and cruise then you will love them...Plus if u have any back problems they are the antidote cause u sit erect...Just push and lean

Ok , I got to ask ...how would apes not be for speed or twistys ??
Apes look awesome, by far my favorite look but I think I'm too short and they're just not comfortable for the long haul. They handle A LOT differently, but it's nothing you can't get used to.
