So, was riding on the fat bob the other day and heard a rattling sound, turned out to be the exhaust. There was a broken bolt on the exhaust mount, did some research and saw that it was a pretty common issue on a Fat Bob. I brought it in to the hd shop to get it fixed. I have the extended warranty, foreign military sales threw it in for free when I bought the bike. They called me the next day and said that the transmission case needed to be replaced, the guy said that it was gonna cost over a grand and that was outside of the warranty limits but he worked a "special deal" with harley davidson so I'm lucky that they're gonna fix it and just charge me the $50 deductable. My question is this: Is there really a limit to the dollar amount or was this guy just blowing smoke?

Could be the guy was trying to make himself look good or given the fact they "gave" you the warranty there maybe some $ limit. I would call the ins that covers the ESP and get the exact info.
