Like the factory hands free security system on my bike. This is the 2nd bike I've had with it.
I was in the security field for 40 yrs.
I like the system and like it being on the bike. Don't go threw a heck of a lot of things to lock it up.
When I go somewhere I ususally go in and don't lock my igh switch.
I pretty much keep my eyes on my bike and go check on it.
And yes it has the siren on it. I added it right off. Know nothin is burglar proof.
If you really want to jack with it don't worry, I ain't far away and you got me to contend with.
All I can say is I feel sorry for you......................

The gent got out of his car and walked up to the kid and asked him if he forgot to put in his security code, and that is when kid fled the scene.

Did you find you bike on it's side or on the kickstand? If it was on it's side, what are the possibilties the "gent" knocked it over and came up with a cover story?

The article says they have to be within 8 meters (26 feet) of the fob to pull this thing off.
My harley won't start if mine is more than 3-4 feet from the bike, and my Wife's Nissan with a fob also won't do anything until your within arms length of the vehicle, so I don't see how you can be that far from the fob and get anything.
Apparently the Europeans just build crap.
I never leave my bike in public without locking the ignition and forks.
SO, how do you remove the HD security/fob thing? I don't like having something that is just waiting to fu(k me over somewhere - lost fob or bad battery. I'd prefer to just use the key locks.
If your steering isn't locked, anyone can come along and get your personal code from the speedo. it just takes about 30 seconds to get the bike going. Always lock the steering & ignition.
So how do they get the code without the key fob?...I am curious as I work at a Harley shop and have had to change out the tssm and put the bike into password learning on the digital tech...Due to customers loosing their key fob and not knowing the pin to manually disable the security...Like I said I am just curious ...Are you going on hearsay or do you really know how to retrieve the personal code without the fob being present?

There is a warning here, when you're traveling on the autobahn/autostrada and you park at a rest stop they tell you not to lock the doors via fob but use the real key as thieves have some device that "grabs"your code and opens the doors. When you go back to the car you'll find it still locked but all the valuables are missing and since there are no signs of break-in you keep on driving until you reach destination and you're in for a big surprise!Probably they can do the same to our bikes therefore it is advisable to always lock the forks and arm the pager.

My 2011 came with it factory, I was sure I would not like the system. Wrong after a couple weeks I found I did like and now it is on my list of things that belong on my rides.

So Bubba is waiting with a code capture devise at the rest stop, with a Uhaul and a ramp for me to park my HD. he will grabe the code ride in and drive off with my HD.
Ok 1800 insurance guy... you aint going o believe this.
There is a limit to what you can do. heck if bubba wants it that bad he will walk up stick a gun in your face and say off.
Cool about the signal amplifier. So simple. But unless you chain your bike to a street pole there is nothing stopping a gut from throwing a sling around it and hoisting it into the back of a truck with a small cherry picker.
