Then I saw it. Damn. It drew me towards it like it had a tractor beam on me. A 2012 CVO Ultra Classic in bright yellow. My heart started pitter pattering and my palms got sweaty and I knew I was in deep kimchi. Before I could escape, the salesman saw the look in my eye and moved in for the kill. He didn't even have to try and sell it. I was mesmerized. I've been very pleased and satisfied with my 2009 Ultra Classic and put some 35,000+ enjoyable miles on it and couldn't have been happier. Until today.

No, I didn't buy it. Yet. I was able to run away and partially come to my senses. I just need to figure out a way of erasing my memory and completely forgetting how it made me feel sitting on it before it's to late.

$40,000 they are asking for it as configured. For a bike? Thats crazy!!!
More than double the price of mine now. I know I am not going to sleep very well tonight.

It looks something like this in case you were wondering...

A list of parts/prices.
If not doing your own labor, remember to add that to the total cost.

I'd want to change too many things to consider paying a CVO price, then start spending more.

Same thing happened to me! Swore I would never get rid of my 06 FatBoy, had it dialed in and customized, I was finished. I always got the looks and comments everywhere I went! I was done! Went in to a dealership in another state to get a t shirt, then there she was! I always said if I was to get a new bike, I would get a road glide, I would do yadda, yadda, yadda to and change the yadda, yadda, yadda, add the yadda, yadda, yadda. There it was, they knew they had me! They made me a deal I could not refuse on my FB. Do I regret it? No way! I had some regrets for a few weeks while I saw my bike for sale, but I know some one got a helluva nice FB, and I have one helluva ride myself! Only thing I have changed on her is the handlebars! Go for it! You won't regret it! That bike looks awesome! Good luck!

I brought home a yellow bike once. My GF said it looked like a taxicab. That's all it took; traded it in with less than 250 miles. 40 large for ANY vehicle is OTT ridiculous. You could buy a decent 2/2/1 in Florida for 40 large. If your bike has been great for 35K miles, why open a can of worms by trading? New bike might have problems. That's why I keep what I got--my bikes are proven, and that makes 'em more attractive to me than a new sled. 'Sides--the MoCo ain't really come out with something affordable that I like lately. Then ya gotta deal with the cat, then the mods start all over.

No--unless you make the kinda $$ where 40Gs are pocket change, I'd eschew the idea.

And 6 months later you'll be lucky if it brings $15K on trade.
