So one day before work, I work 330 to midnight. I decide to go for a ride I drop my stuff off at work, my leather jacket for at night. It's a beautiful day barely any clouds. Take a nice ride. All of a sudden I'm under the one dark cloud and it starts to pour. Seemed like it was following me.
I had next to no time before work so I turn around and ride back up the interstate. By this time it's sunny again and 80 degrees. FML, So I gun it and do 85-90 for 10 or so miles back up to work. By the time I get to work I'm completely dry.
After an hour and a half of this "fun" I pulled into my driveway, cold, wet, and greatly relieved. Sometimes the best part of a ride is getting off.
So last Friday morning I take the bike to work, way unusually warm at 75-80 that day. I top off the tank, ride the few miles to work. Pull in the lot and the plant manager is there to stop me. Area power grid is down, the plant is closed for the day. "You got to be f###king kidding me". Put 200 miles on that day, riding along the Niagara River & the Falls, Lake Ontario and back. Great ride that day
I sympathize with the OP. That sounded very similar to the ride up to Laconia last fall. Weather just got worse and worse the closer we got up there. Probably the last 1/4th of the way there I was riding nearly blind because of so much rain and fog on my helmet visor. Made the mistake of opening my visor and getting my glasses wet too >_>
Was definitely relieved to get off the bike up there and walk to the bar next door and have a couple of drinks for the night.
Hey Duecedog, that Windjammer motel is about 10 minutes from where I work! Yea,Peggys Cove, beautiful but treacherous. My air cleaner is the oval type.
The Windjammer was our first night, just after getting off of 'The Cat'. I really can't complain as that was the most rain we had the whole trip. Just a few showers here and there. Plenty of fog though. I'm hoping to get back to NS someday and see a bit more of it. I was impressed with how friendly the folks were to a bunch of raggedy looking bikers.

Engraved Rebellion: Inside Bundnerbike's Glam Rock II
A few months back, I crossed alligator alley at night and sure enough there was a huge t storm right in the middle. Well, I had my gear so I went for it. It poured like a mf! But at one point, 'Smoke on the Water' came on the xm and I swear it was so damn fun. I had cruise control set, tunes blaring and just pushed through that storm late at night. Felt great to get home that night though.
