Buddy of mine and his girlfriend were cruising north on hwy 6 today in College Station when out of no where for no apparent reason the driver in front of them does a hard brake check. They slammed into the *** end of the sedan and she has minor road rash and bruises but he is in ICU. WTF is wrong with a person for the thought of doing something like that to even cross their mind? The Street Glide is trashed. She said she got the license plate number of the sedan. I feel sorry for that piece of **** because we all know that with a license plate you get an address and with an address someone is getting an *** stomping!!
EDIT: On second thought I don't feel sorry for that SOB. If he/she gets the **** beat out of them then they had it coming. Eye for an eye.

you described the accident, but didn't mention that the sedan took off. the worst they can do by law is failure to render aid, or report an accident they were involved in. Man this sux. Cager wars seem to be the majority of threads these days. I hope everyone recovers well.
keep your Karma clean while doing the whole eye for an eye thing. remember the person in back has the responsibility of braking too, even if the cager pulled an asshat move and brakechecked em. good work on getting a plate number.
with all these posts I been reading lately, it makes me wanna get a camera mounted to the bike. A camera might help me keep the weapon in its place in lighter situations.( I am protected, but never excited to have to use it.)
Hope everything works out for your friend in icu.Had that happen to me a couple of times, just always wonder what the hell is going through the drivers mind when they pull that crap.Notice as i get older a lot of drivers for no apparent reasons are constantly on the gas then tapping their brakes for no reason at all.
Don't get me wrong I realize that if you rear end a vehicle it is ultimately your fault in the eye of the law as failure to control speed. But, when someone hits their brakes in front of you hard enough that the vehicle does a nose dive, then it's kind of hard to avoid. Eye for eye, will not be me. I keep my nose clean because of the obligation I took towards my fellow man.

I really hope your friends are OK. I hate to hear about these things.
Unfortunately, I think a lot of people ride bikes like they drive cages. What I mean is that one may not give second thought to following a little too closely (not on the *** tailgating) while in a car, and it carries over to a bike as well. I've been guilty of this myself a lot. Lately, I've been really trying to follow the 4-second rule. When you do it, you'd be surprised how much distance it creates.
I don't mean to sound like an ***, not at all. Just hoping that my advice and observations will help when he gets back in the saddle.
Leaving the scene of an injury accident is a felony in Michigan regardless of who's at fault.
Same here in ND. If your buddy rear ended a car, well that was ultimately his fault, but if the car then took off, the big fines/jail time is goin to be thiers.

I think that in Texas (not 100% sure though) that if they leave the scene, then the blame shifts to them anyway.
Long time ago I had a cager turn in front of me and slam on his brakes. I rear ended him and I was given the ticket for failure to control speed even though I had them locked up when they turned in front of me

The woman driving the sedan did not flee. My buddies girlfriend which was able to walk around and communicate with the officers and paramedics after the accident said that the woman was telling everyone that she did not realize what had happened at first. That all she knew was that something slammed into the back of her car. After statements from witnesses and my buddy, who is still in the hospital and his girlfriend, the police are now investigating it as a case of road rage. Hopefully they will hang her *** out to dry.
