got to experience it myself today. was messin around, accelerating hard thru the gears, and when I hit about 70 the fork had other ideas. I let go and grabbed the bike with my legs and it smoothed back out.
might have to get a steering damper
I think you have other issues Shu. My Low Rider has no wobble and I've had it up to 125. If you're running Dunflops, check the front tire for cupping, and the other stuff Kowan suggested.
Raise the bike on a lift and check for slop in the wheel bearings front and back.
See if you have play in the swingarm, steering neck, etc.
might have to do that.
I've had it well past 80 and it's never done it before. since I was on it hard I guess that might make something loose show up. I 've thought the front end hasn't felt right for awhile now
I'd check the tire pressure first. Was it a real windy day?
I suppose you can get a wobble at any speed, but 70 MPH isn't particularly fast. These bikes tend to be pretty stable at those speeds, so something doesn't sound right. You should be good to at least 100 MPH.
I'm kind of curious when you said you "let go". Is that a figure of speech or did you actually let go of the grips?
Get all over that front looking somethings off , you'd really have hit something hard to cause a wobble without hardware problems on a FX like yours . Only time I ever had one without it being a bagger or windshield involved one leg had low oil , caused and imbalance at speed .
"The Wobble" has happend to me only once in 5 years. In my case I was accelerating at a high rate of speed and quickly rolled off the throttle, which caused the wobble. I don't believe it has happened since.
