I am considering purchasing some Big City Thunder Baffles for my 08 Sporty which has stock slip on pipes. Has anyone done this here? If so what were the results?
Made a big difference in sound when I used the Thunder Monster baffles on a Yamaha (about 5 or 6 years ago) to make it sound like a Harley! (It never sounded like one, by the way, but sounded alot better.) I bet they'll sound pretty good on a Harley. They used to have a guy there who answered the phone when I called, who was really a big help. (Jim, I think?) Just tell him what you want, and he'll know if something will fit.

I've heard a number of positive comments on Big City Thunder baffles. Supposedly reduces the loudness factor from a 9 to 7 vs unbaffled straight pipes. The install is easy.
I have a set of brand new BCTB's still in the box unopened for sale. Can save you $50 bucks! Wound up buying baffled TAB slipons for $275 that have a similar effect. PM me if you have any interest.

Reason: typo
I had them,,,,,all they did was make my pipes quieter with an ever so deeper sound,,basically,,,,,they frickin suck.call them up and they said as long as your system is perfectly tuned, they should perform better, whatever that means......they are baffles and they nmake the pipes quieter,I should have known better, don't waste your $$
I put the BCTM baffs in my V&H Long Shots and am very happy with the sound. Even got a free T-shirt. 4 hex bolts, some loctite and ten minutes later had the sound I was looking for.
I tried them out in my Deuce with the Mean Mothers. I may be in the minority but I didn't like them. The Mean Mothers sounded way to tinny and I could tell a drop in performance. For me the standard baffle was plenty loud in them although it was basically a straight through glass pack. To each his own, but I wouldn't bother.
I installed some a couple weeks ago in my V&H Big Shots and don't really notice a sound difference. On a positive note, and it might just be my mind playing tricks on me, I noticed a bit more low end throttle response...

I ran them in Vance and Hines Straightshots when I had my Sporty. I tried SE slip ons, drag pipes, VH Straightshots with baffles, and the Straightshots with Thunder Monsters. The latter is what I liked the best. Decently deep rumbly, thumpy sound and the bike ran purty darn good too.

I thought a quieter sound was the primary purpose of baffles...... I wouldn't expect much improvement in performance, if any at all (assuming tuned up).
IMO straight pipes are a bit too much for my neighborhood.
