Funny about waving. I was out on an empty back road when up comes a bagger dude and a bit behind him, his wife/gal.
All of us out in the middle of nowhere doing about 35 as we came on each other. So close, you could have hi-fived me.
Came up on the guy and waved. Stone faced, he goes by and doesn't wave. Couple of seconds later, I come up on the wife and I wave. Stone faced, she goes past and doesn't wave.
Now, what are you supposed to think of that. They must have discussed it ahead of time to be ****** and not wave under any circumstances.
Funny, today in Santa Cruz, two motorcycle policemen waved at me. Caught me by surprise, and had no time to wave back.
Or maybe they were telling me to slow down
I wave at every 2 wheeler going by me, if they dont wave, my forward facing 2 fingered wave raises up and becomes a single fingered solute when you go by. Check your mirror, I may be waving at you!
#1. They're afraid to take both hands off the bars.
#2. They're trying to be Billy Bad-***.
Both seem endemic to cruiser riders, I'm afraid.
I always flash the horns, no matter what kind of bike. \m/
My thoughts exactly. When I rode a Sportbike I noticed that more often than not, Harley riders (not bikers) wouldn't return a wave. I wave at everybody... (except scooters!)

When there's a lot of bikes, at some point you get burned-out on waving. I start out waving at everyone...when it gets down to waving once or twice a minute, or more, I give up. Maybe that's what was happening...

I was taught by old school bikers as i was growing up that riding was a brotherhood and we all stuck together. I was told waving was customary. So many bad *** Harley riders out here nowadays that are too tough to wave or uphold that brotherhood that was built on having that brotherhood.
I wave to every bike I see and get more waves back from metrics and sportbikes than I do from Harleys. I still believe in that brotherhood, but only see it in bikers who are real bikers. All the "I'm a badass" douchebags don't understand plain and simple.
Maybe some of you tools are too weighted down by all that gay *** pirate gear you wear to wave. With the exception of a handful of people in here, I believe the sportbikers are more hardcore bikers than the people on this forum.
Same, or the wave while holding on. Seen a few lose it while waveing. Just past experiance. Half the time they are across the median and could give a rats butt.
2 fingers pointing down holding the bars isnt a diss, and they usually see it and give me the "keep the shiny side up signal" anyways.
