Personally I don't care what anyone wears it's a personal choice but here's my 2 cents.
I went down a week ago Sunday. No boots, (romeos) Jeans, T-shirt, leather vest, no gloves, & a 1\2 shell helmet. Luckily I was only going about 25 mph. Of the road rash I received it was minimum. Had I been smart enough to gear up completely the only 3 things that would have been hurt was my ego, my bike, & my ***! That sciatica is a pain in the ***! BTW, I'll keep wearing my helmet.
In an age where you can buy very cool, comfortable and protective perforated leather gloves (for example like these) with reinforced palm sliders and knuckle/finger protection why would anyone want to wear fingerless gloves that don't allow your palm and back of hand to breath and offer virtually no crash protection? Fashion perhaps?
They do make fingerless gloves that have perforated leather and palm sliders (or gel inserts). The only thing missing is finger protection. Not saying they are better than full-finger gloves, just that they have also advanced in this age.
sunburned hands?? never had that or seen it in my life (just saying) I mean I am sure I could google it and find a rare pic but ..........
You've never had a sunburn on your hands...or even seen it? Seriously? Ever been out of your house or met any white folks?

I don't wear any, but I can easily understand why people wear fingerless gloves. Haven't you ever used the clutch so much with full-finger gloves on, that the ends of you fingers feel like your fingernails are coming off by the end of the day? I have some real thin Hatch driving gloves that don't do that now, but 1 day in city traffic with the wrong gloves will tell you exactly why the first guy chopped the fingers off of his.
Funny glove thing - one day I was riding with no gloves, going about 65, and a splinter blew from the back of a farm truck and stuck in my hand between my knuckles - this was a big splinter about 2 inches long and it stuck in so solid that even at 65 it didn't so much as twitch in the wind. I was so fascinated, I left it in for 5-6 miles just to see if it would blow out - it didn't.
Same questions all the time, get the same answers everytime.Helmet or no helmet it makes no difference you take a ride down any road surface your hands are the bodies first defense to protect itself. You live through a bought of road rash you will understand.I for one feel safer without a skid lid (don't ask why you would never understand)always wear gloves, and pants and shirts and good eye protection and at least shoes.

No, I am serious, I have never sun burned my hands and I am white as they come lol (fair skined/blonde hair/ blue eyes) I am outside all the time and worked outside for years as well. Maybe that is some peoples problem, they are inside at a desk too much and they go outside on weekends only and burn their casper hands lol.

They are very comfortable, keep the sun off (I'm dark skin and I have burned the sh*t outta the backs of my hands on long bicycle rides), and allows air in. I wear them even when I'm not wearing a helmet because even the most minor drop usually involves your hands.
