is the exhaust pipe mounted and sealed rite, fire will blow out with a leak every time..
could be a exhaust valve stuck, it wouldn't be running very good.
there is always fire in the exhaust, that is where all the heat comes from.. usually it only blows a short distance, not out the pipe end and a muffler contains it too..with a rich running bike with open short pipes, it is not uncommon to see blue flames blowing at nite..

Sounds like you are firing through an open exhaust valve. Here are some common causes. 1. Exhaust push rod is to tight. Firing through open exhaust valve. Check adjustment.
2. Timing is off. Your firing through an open exhaust valve. check and adjust timing. Check distributor advance (if equipped) for proper operation.
3. Your carb may be adjusted to rich. Unburned gas igniting in the hot exhaust pipe. Check carb adjustment.
4. exhaust leak at the head.
