noticed some rust

Took the bike this am to work. As I was pulling it out I noticed some rust on the passendr peg mount. It was inside the bolt holes that are not used. I swore there was paint in there. Should this be a concern. 2012 sg. Going in for 5k next weekend

A little CLR on a cotton swap, then come clear nail polish if you want. Run a bolt through first then CLR to clean it well.

That's if it bothers you. I have some bolts that wanted to rust on the inside. I did that.

Mine are too. I sprayed the inside of the holes on mine using one of these "staw" thingies of the clear body undercoat can.

You need to go beyond the obvious to find rust. I had the same thing, but what got my attention was the thick rust on the inside of the air breather cover along with the rust on the underside of the floorboards, the battery box and under most of the chrome parts. I used a spray on rust converter along with spray on rubber coating on all the rust damaged areas to prevent any further rust development. Catch it early to prevent any rust blow through.
