Default Another Voltage reg problem

Me and a friend of mine bought our Ultra Classic's in Janurary. He has about 7000 miles on his and the Reg.went out. I guess mine will go soon. Why don't they do a recall on regulators, nobody want to be broke down on the side of the road. I guess they just don't care. I have seen many other post on here with bikes having the same problem, its just a matter of time before it happens to all of us 2012 owners.

They did recall a batch of them. My buddy's '12 SG was one that was recalled.

I would forget about the Haley Stators and Regulators when they fail. Swap them out for Cycle Electrics.
http://cycleelectricinc.com/

Their Regulators are superior to Harley's and they are the masters of the 3 phase systems.

A more efficient approach to rectifying regulators.
To control voltage on Harley-Davidson alternators other rectifier regulators dump current to ground. This causes maximum stator current and temperature at all times. Cycle Electric rectifying regulators block current to control voltage. This reduces stator current resulting in lower temperature and less drag on the motor which means more efficient operation. The largest and most noticeable benefit is a smoother charge to the battery. This means less battery maintenance and longer battery life

Recalls, from any vehicle manufacturer, are only issued for SAFETY related issues.
Service Bulletins are issued for non-safety related problems, and the MoCo did so over a month ago for the voltage regulators. Info on the Service Bulletin has been posted here on the forum several times since.

Thanks for the info. I work out of the country and am only home once a month. I just missed it somehow.

Happened to me on the interstate yesterday, left me without power in congested traffic, barely made it onto the shoulder.
