I recommend the PC-V, K&N filter, with "NO HD Download" Running this with V&H Monster Rounds and Power Duals on my '12 Limited with no issues running 1200RPM in 6th gear with the PC Program for that build. Getting 40MPG average with plenty of power and no right thigh heat issues. Engine isn't lugging if power is smooth and doesn't rattle the primary chain.

air leak, no need for tuner, save your money. make sure the pipe, if rewelded after gutting, doesnt have a hole in it and ensure that it fits in the exhaust ports correctly and the gaskets are fully installed. (old ones arent behind the new ones also). And yes, the rpms you listed are too damn low for those gears. shift down, you aren't going to hurt anything.

never start by throwing $ at a problem unless you have too many $$ on hand.....

Exactly. I never run 6th gear under 2800 rpm. Even that is barely enough.
