ok first off, i have a 2012 street glide. i recently put on a set of factory headers with a gutted cat. no problems at hight rpm but alot of spit and sputter at low rpm (1800 to 2500) at cruising speeds in 5th/6th gear. So i went to my local harley dealer and got a stage 1 se air cleaner and download. it took care of most of it but it still has minor sputtering in low rpm. it acts like its starving for fuel. Any suggestions plz???????????????? I was thinking about trying the nightrider fl-vied-10 to see if that would take care of it. Advice anyone????????????//
Still too lean, even with the download. Get yourself a good tuner (PC-5, TTS Mastertune, Power Vision, etc.) and a map to go with it and you'll be off to a good start. Ideally you'd get it dyno'd after that, but I'm not convinced that a dyno is an absolute necessity if you take the time to learn about your specific tuner and can tweak the map yourself. The Xied is a budget way richen up the mixture if you currently lack the funds for a tuner, but it's no substitute and your bike won't run as well as it would if it were tuned correctly.
You need many more exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe even some more question marks??????????????????????????????????????????
yea thats why i was goin to try the nightrider product. CHEAP. maybe a tuner later on. anybody know anything bout the vance and hines fuelpak? heres ya some !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????? and ******* lmao
Why in the world would you buy a new bike and then look for the cheap way out? There can't be that much cost savings, just save and get the good one instead of buying both.
Did you use a new header gasket? Someone else mentioned checking for leaks.
The download the dealer uses is too lean because it still has to meet EPA regs. You need to either go to an indie or get one and do it yourself. With some research you'll find the proper map. If you're not familiar with doing your own tuning, don't attempt to do it on your own. You'll do more harm than good. There are established maps you can search for and use them.
