Is there a certain amount of mileage that is needed before a cleared error code returns if there is still a problem or will it show up right away (first few miles).
I had some sensor error codes with my Tmax, cleared the codes but they came back after 125 or so miles. I cleared the codes, reinitialized the Tmax, & rode 50 miles. Codes did not appear yet. Fingers crossed.
C'mon, someone has to know if a certain amount of mileage has to pass before a fault shows up again or does it show up quickly if there still is a fault after it's cleared.
I would THINK it would show up as soon as the problem resurfaced. 1 mile or 100 miles would make no difference. I had a T Max for 20,000 + miles and I don't recall reading anything like this in the manual.
A cleared code should stay cleared. Miles has nothing to do with it. At least there's nothing in the manual about it. If the code comes back it means the problem came back (or never went away). You could always call Zippers and see if they can help with that question.

I filled out a Zippers request for help & haven't heard back yet. I have never had a error code on the Heritage and ran a PCV for 3 years. The Tmax runs great but it has had a few issues. I ran the autotune module & wrote it to the Tmax. The check engine code came up about 7 miles later, stayed on for 4-5 miles and went out. When I got to work I cleared the codes & recycled the Tmax by turning the ignition on & off 3 times for 30 seconds each which I didn't do after writing the adjusted map to the Tmax the first time. I put on about 40-50 miles after work & the check engine did not ome on. No error codes either. Hopefully resetting the Tmax solved the problem. But I know on autos it takes about 50 miles for a cleared error code to come back if there is still a problem.
