I did it to make it sound right. Stage one I guess its called. Been through the metric crotch rockets, my Fatty pulls plenty hard and its good for me. Dont need any more than what it is. Too bad that HD cant make them sound right from the factory. I would have never touched it. Thanks to the Govt. I guess it keeps the aftermarket in business as well.

Stocker. Not in a hurry to get anywhere. As long as the bike keeps purring on the trips around the country, I'm good. What extra money I have put in my bikes goes toward comfort.

I voted stage II, but not really a package deal. Heavy bike with sidecar, I went for low+midrange torque, not top end horspower. Almost as much $ went into handling upgrades as went into the motor, but that was before the sidecar was added.

No kits for me I started with a pair of CVO 103
script heads and went from there and WOW !
what a wake up it made. I wish that I could
afford a dyno tune just so I could squeeze
every oz. of torque and hp out of my RKC

3-5/8" bore with stock 4-1/4" stroke EVO. S&S 362 cam and other goodies. Just enough to get speeding tickets but more common sense not to!

Bought a 96" bike and have extensive upgrades to 103" and 107hp at the wheel

But if I ever get another bike I won't go past getting pipes and a heavy breather air filter. Stock in 20/20 hindsight is almost good enough.

Just read the definition of stages. I'm past stage 4. I have larger valves, polished heads and probably stuff I don't know about because I'm not a techie.

I wouldn't do it again. Lots of $$$$.

The reality is that no matter what we do to our Harleys, it's nothing compared to the Superbikes of our era with 200hp, mega torque on much lighter machines that have electronic suspension adjustments, traction control etc etc. And it comes box-stock!

Here's mine as of last night, so I'm somewhere between stage one and whatever stage new cams are.

Stock. Why pay good money to screw up a perfectly running bike? I just don't get it.
