Kept my engine stock, didnt want to mess with reliabilty. I also have a rice rocket when i feel the need to blast around. The Harley is for relaxing cruising and taking in the scenery

I clicked the last option. I don't know what stage my bike fits into. I did the work myself, for my own enjoyment. I didn't feel a great need for more power, but it was a nice bonus after I was done.

I TOTALLY AGREE with you!!! RLAP rocks!
That said, i had the stage 1 setup when I bought the bike, later putting Andrews 21 torque cams in.
Now I ride around in my power band, don't have to attract attention to get power or pass morons, and mileage is ....ok. I just can't keep my FIST out of it, with that SEAT pushing in the small of my back thru each gear!
Pulling my trailer, with a larger back (darkside) tire also benefits from the torque, pulling hills at 70 with a full load and woman on the back. TC88, acting right.

My S&S Cycles T111 carb has been on my 2000 FLHR about one year now. Right around 10,000 miles. Stock, no mods.

after owning 74s and 80s, the 96 is a rocket.
when/if it break's, it will be modified.
very happy with the stage one combo, i have been running for 2 year's, v&h straight shot's, s&s teardrop+ k&n and the thundermax a/t.
grumpy.

Well since no one else replied, i'll take a stab at it. I am sure my stages are not perfect, but it is how i interpret them.

Stage I, high flow AC with aftermarket pipes. Allows more airflow intake and exhaust

Stage II, not sure on this one, so I'll go with CI's. Big bore kit, or bore the engine to the next higher step. for me it was 96 to 103. if you have an 88, it is 88 to 95.

Stage III, proper cams. the stock cams suck in any configuration.

Stage IV port the heads.

Except for stage I, i think all would require some type of fuel management system.

before the bashing begins, I know i may not be exactly right, but no one else gave it a shot.

I have a stage 1 on my Heritage and a stage 4 on the Road King. I like the power of the stage 4 but it doesn't like low rpm's. Have to keep pushing it but that's never been a problem.

I saw no listing for the work I have done to my bike so I did not vote.........

I know not what stage it is at. All I can say is that the motor has been spanked, and runs like a Raped Ape.

Not sure but that seems right.

My Stage 4 has Higher compression pistons. Bigger throttle body. Cams and Heads and some "OTHER" stuff
