Is there such a thing or is that an oxymoron? I can go to tire rack and other places and find quality brand wheels for my van or car in the $1xx-$3xx range. One wheel for my FLSTC so far are as much as a full set for the van! Is there a source for reasonably priced wheels? I've done the build a bike on the Harley website and thought it was crazy when it added $400-$500 per wheel but now I see that's about half the going rate elsewhere. What am I missing?
Ok...I got 4 wheels sent off and chromed on my wify's CX9 Mazda when we bought it because they looked crappy in aluminum color. ALL 4 wheels cost less than ONE MC wheel for my SG. Yep, I had a tough time swallowing...but hey, I got my Renegade Cinci wheels from Eastern Performance and got a great deal on wheels and tires mounted and balanced and shipped. You might want to give them a call...they were NOT in the 1xx-3xx dollar range but they were in the 9xx-1K each range. Got new bearings too...cost me about 150 to get them installed at the local yocal MOCO...they didn't make a comment about my purchase and I had them dropped shipped to the dealer for installation. I bought Renegade wheels due to superior cost and quality. I tried to buy RC from Bowling green KY, manufacturer home as I am only an hour away...they WOULD not come close to the deal...welp sorry guys you just lost a couple grand sale...they must be making so much money they didn't need mine. Plus...everybody has RC's...I haven't seen mine at Bike night yet... Good luck!
I can see them being more, obviously the demand is far lower being only 2 wheels per sale rather than 4 and being so many fewer potential sales. That said, it doesn't seem like they should be 10 times as expensive.
Does anyone know if it is possible to buy the factory optional wheels for the $4xx or so they show on the website in the build and price page?
I just bought a pair of the Dunlop HD series whitewalls. They came to about $280 shipped and another $130 to have them installed with new tubes. They are seen in my sig.
I got it for $360 from a local dealer. I think it looks pretty nice. The stock wheel was laced and had a big dent in the rim. It would of cost about the same to get a new rim and re-lace it versus getting a solid cast wheel.
For the price I like the Chromed stock S/G wheels. A friend of mine just spent 6K on wheels, rotors,Matching air cleaner...I thought he was OFF HIS ROCKER!!!!!
