Not gonna be too much longer before I have to hang up the riding boots for the winter. Planning on keeping the bike in my garage (non-heated) this winter rather than store it somewhere. Any suggestions on winterizing? Pull the battery out and store inside, fuel stabilizer, etc?
I'm going to change the oil, fill the tank, put fuel stabilizer in, clean it, put the wheels on 2x6 planks and put a portable heater in the garage set on the lowest setting. So, not much really.
Change the oil..you want to change it BEFORE it sits for a long time, not after.
I ride it every month at least throughout the winter...perhaps may go for a 6 week stretch during the peak of a bad winter, else..usually get out at least once a month.
If it will go for long...I'll put a trickle charge on the battery for the weekend.
Move it at least 1 foot every other month..so the tire don't get a lame spot.
Bed sheet over the top of her in the unheated garage.
That's it! I don't believe in fuel stabilizers...not with all the stuff they already pre-pack in your fuel these days. Stopped using those in the early 80's...and all my engines/motors that go away for the winter start right up in the spring...no problem at all. if you're been duped into believing in those snake oils...hey, they do no harm..it's your wallet.

Stabilizer in the tank and a battery tender. Cover and let simmer (or don't, it'll get dusty either way). Some change the oil - I don't. Some put it on a lift jack - I don't. Some get all **** - I don't.
Note: bugs are easier to wash off in the fall.

Thanks for the responses guys. I have a lift, so I'm not worried about the tires. I don't have easy access to an electrical outlet and an extension cord would have to be drug across the floor, so even though I'm wired for a tender, that's not an option either. Should I pull the battery and store it inside?
