For the past 19 winters, I've kept my bike in the garage using the "Cycle Shield" storage system. I have no rust on my bike at all, not even the head bolts. It's a heavy gage plastic bag into which you put your bike, with desicant bags you put inside with the bike to maintain dry air inside.

Post a link so we can see this contraption. I found one of my bikes wet with condensation last week after opening the garage door I was thinking about a brooding lamp with a light bulb under the bike to keep this from happening.
Probably sounds like a stupid question but in the early 80's I had a GL1100 that I rode in a salt water environment and kept outdoors in front of the barracks and do not recall problems with rust. I lived on an Island in Puget Sound.

Nah, the air is much dryer now...global warming and all that.
I wash and wax mine, put it on my lift to keep critters away, open the far garage window for air circulation and temp consistency with outside. No rust yet.
