I have a friend that rides a Vic Vision. We call the dude John Malcovitch, because he's a splittin image of the actor, and a real character. His Vic Vision is a nice machine, the engine purrs, has all the electonic gadgets of any typical touring bike, looks like it rides nice, has loads of power. I used to think they're ugly, but lately I've come to realize there are other bikes out there.
Ugliest bike on the road today. That son of a gun could do everything perfect and I still wouldn't ride one.
It's not perfect, has a couple little quircks ie.. the mirrors and could use a little more storage
space, but it is a real fine touring bike.Comfort, performance, ease/cost of maintanance, dependability and sticker price are superior imho, and all in 15yrs.
Looks aside I haven't found any who have owned and ridden both extensively give the nod to a Harley.I put 220k great mi. on 6 of them,73k mi on Twin Cams in 4 1/2 years and would rate the Limited the 2nd best bike I've owned to date.
You and I probably own a motorcycle for different reasons.

You did good until you got to the last sentence, unless you know something about me that I don't. I ride my motorcycles, pure and simple. You can take your ugly- assed Bike and stick in whichever body cavity you feel is appropriate. My original comment stands.
No I didn't,do a search you'll find lots of people who have, street glides especially acct.no spot lights to rest the fairing on.I stuck a pair of work socks on the lamps so as not to scratch the paint.Remember that when you have to replace your broken brackets.
.
I took my batwing off and managed to not scratch anything. I should have looked at the brackets while in there probably. Not that I think they are broken. But I could have done a $2.00 reinforcement to make sure they never break. I'll put that on my spring checklist. Thanks.
As far as cheap brackets and Harley issues, no doubt they have some. But, I'll bet there are a few things that pop up on the Victory forums now and then, just like any bike - expensive or otherwise.
Regardless, if I did get a different touring bike it wouldn't be a Vic solely due to it's looks. Which I think is a shame. I want to like the Vic. I just can't, and unlike that girl at the end of the night, you can't just turn out the lights to make it prettier.

Gee whiz, I must have struck a nerve there. Guess I should be a little more sensitive, knowing so many have such an identity crisis. You must be a real biker because you're on a Harley.

Like the old saying goes " Tit's or wheels there will be problems "
why don't harley wake up and change things, who ever thought of putting the cat. converter in the head pipe next to the brake switch and the sh-t for wheel bearing, fairing brackets that crack, voltage regs. that don't last a week, comp.sprockets that don't last, cranks that twist, bad bearings in trans, even back in the 8o's when they changed cam bearings in the evo's.they had good designs and then *** with them. thanks for letting me get that off of my chest.
If Harleys arent designed the way you want your bike to be designed why are you riding one? Go get a bike designed the way you want.
