Any recommendations on replacing the stock windshield on my 2011 FLTRU with something with a contour and tint? Are any of the after market Windshields distortion proof when you look thru them? I was surprised to see that Windvest says their products are not made to look thru--more of a wind break and protection than a 'window'. I appreciate your thoughts. Pat
Mastads are hands down the ugliest damn windshield you can put on a Road Glide. I hear they work but why would you want a big turd on the front of your beautiful bike?
Check out Windvest. They are really great windshields and the customer service you get from them is second to none.

you should be looking over your windshield, not through it. windshields are a personal thing, what works for me may not work for you. having said that, i use the hd windsplitter 12'' in the summer, and the hd windsplitter 15'' in the winter. i still get some wind in the face, but most of it is directed over my head, and even more so with the 15''.
there are several aftermarket ws that work too, but you can try out the windsplitter at your hd dealer.
The shape of the 13 inch Road Glide Madstad looks far better than other Madstad's. My bike is Smokey Gold, and the bronze tinted MS looks fantastic.
The Windvest is a good windsheild, and the service is fantastic, but until you eliminate that turbulance behind the windshield, you will not be happy. I have a Windvest and 2 Harley Shields.
When you want that shorty look, (trailer queen), you can simply remove the the top panel.

I have a 14" Windvest after having a 12". I'm only 5'10" and it still doesn't seem tall enough. I wonder if a 13" Madstad would be tall enough.

I had a 15" dark Mako from LRS. I'm 5-10, its pretty much the same height as stock, and its a bit high for me. Just got a 13, I'm sure it will be perfect.

I'm 5'11" and the 13" works for me. Just takes a little ajusting until you get it right for you. Now that I have it I would not have anything else. IMHO it looks great to.
