I must be missing something (wouldn't be the first time). Is the build off over? I thought, by the ads on TV, that it was a multiple week thing.
Yup, it was for one multiple week and it's over.
Jr. won with his usual 'theme' bike.
Gas Monkey's were second with their every-other-builder-has-already-built-one bobber.
Sr. and J-J weren't never even in the running because they actually had original ideas and built them.
could someone have used a victory or indian motor, or did it have to be a harley? why not start with a v-rod motor and do something off the wall?
how would we go about getting the networks to start up a real biker build-off? maybe a petition drive?
east coast vs. west coast vs old school vs. new school. let the audience decide who the builders will be. or,
How about a HDForums build off? how many members do we have...every one that is interested could put 5 or 10 bucks in the pot for the winning bike. forum members pick the contestants over the next few months-contest starts on july 1 and all bikes must be ridden to sturgis for the showdown. everybody that put up money and goes to sturgis gets a vote. also give forum members a chance to meet and greet one another. bound to be some bar or campground that will host the thing-lots of free exposure for their venue.
i love this bike. i wouldn't trade my EG for it, but any thing else i have had for sure.
I've been riding for over 30 years, I've raced Speedway bikes in Europe and Super sport here in U.S, I've owned Rice burners, Ducati , Triumphs and Harleys and I do appreciate innovation and original ideas but I don't get this bike, with the amount of ego James shows up with, for me he did not deliver, maybe I'm just too old school (which I'm fine with) but the most appealing bike to me was the G.M bike, it did not warrant the amount of s**t talking they did but for me it was a best looking bike.
