Default Fairing

I like both bikes. I just like the fairing on the SG a lot more.

Basically the same bike except for the fairing. The Street Glide has the fairing mounted to the forks whereas the Road Glide has it mounted to the frame. The Road Glide handles better because of this, but most folks seem to like the looks of the Street Glide fairing better and that's why you see more Street Glides on the road than any other bike.

Have you seen them? If so, I'd have a hard time figuring out why you're still considering a road glide. Easily, the ugliest Harley model I have ever seen.

Okay, here we go again.....Go rent them. Ride for at least a day or a weekend. Take them on the type of roads you usually ride. Pay attention to the little things like how they handle twisties. Ride in stop and go traffic, take them through some country roads, ride them on a superslab.....just ride and take notes. By the end of each ride you will know which one fits your riding style and fits your butt. Its testing by the seat of your pants that will help you decide. Is renting expensive? Look at what each bike costs and then decide if you want us to pick it for you or YOU pick it for you. Your money and your decision. I chose a Road Glide Ultra. Fit me and my riding style.

Some of us dont have the option to rent or even test ride a bike before we put down the deposit and have one shipped over.

Do they have the same suspension? I thought the SG was a bit lower and I need all the travel I can get on the rough roads I have to ride on. I am leaning toward the RG, I like the looks of the shark nose!

I wasn't going to comment until "Brenn" ................ I have ridden them both and the edge goes to a better riding ROAD GLIDE. Now that being said we all have our opinions, ride them both if you can, then answer your own questions. Now my bud had a '10 street glide with a "hot rod" motor and my '11 RGU could always bump him in the *** riding the mountains of North Carolina. He never could out ride me in the "real" twisties. He now has another "hot rod" motor in a '13 Road Glide Custom.... we have not ridden together yet?????

I just looked up the specs, the SG ground clearance is 4.7" vs the RG custom at 5.1". That would seem to give the SG a bit more travel and lean angle before scraping.
