Anyone have any recommendations on a battery trickle charger for a bike. I've heard you want to get the kind with the box in the line, not the one that plugs straight into the wall.
This will be used for winter storage, I also heard it extends the life of the battery.
I would certainly recommend any Battery Tenders. Just for maintaining the battery during off times and storage, the wall plug model works just fine. I've got a couple of those, never had any issues and batteries are always ready to go.

+1 -- I've got the one sold by HD, had it for several years, no problems and battery is always strong. Of course, long-term winter storage isn't an issue around here.
Yep, I have 2 of those for both our bikes. I think I bought them about 5 years ago. Up here in Minnesota they work great with the pigtail connector. IIRC, we paid about $20 for each.
+1 on the battery tender jr. i have been using mine since 2008. I hook up my battery when not riding. The only time I dont is when we are on road trips.
I have not seen the need for a tender on my old 99 Softail Custom. With the new technology of AGM batteries, they just do not self discharge when not in use like the old lead acid batteries. My battery is going on 6 years old and never been on a tender. My bike sits for a couple of months sometimes without riding it in the winter time and it always starts right up in the spring without charging.
Having said all of that, if you have a bike with all of the electronic stuff that draws on the battery while sitting, you either need to take the battery out, or use a tender.
