Beast recently found this photo of his first bike, a '52 panhead. It was our only reliable transportation that first year so it got lots of use. You could strap lots of groceries to that tall sissy seat! The photo was taken in 1973 when he was 21, just before we got married. The dragon on the tank was done all in gold leaf. I'm hoping he can find a good photo of the tank but I'm still tickled to find this one.
First road bike... 1977 Honda CB550F "Four" Super Sport. Should have kept that one; classic design and beautiful finish / details. Took this photo in front of my parent's home in Arlington Heights, Illinois back in 1978 during a visit while I was in the USAF.
My 86 Honda Shadow vt700c I bought new in 87. The pic. was taken about 6 years ago after I got it out of my moms basement, where it was forgotten for about 10 years. Got it out, cleaned it up, added new rubber and gave it to my brother in law for his first bike. Now it sets in my shed, returned to me after he got a vtx.
Goodness, I'm young here. Got this 02 V-Max in 09, I didn't understand the meaning of "Not a beginner's bike".
With the exception of the tent missing from the back, that was my camping setup too. Turns out, even with street tires, you can get pretty far into the woods one on.
Never really took any pics of my first bike that I remember. I had one, but can't find it.
Was an 87 Suzuki Savage 650cc one-cylinder.
Too small, too slow, too "not a Harley"....
Got a pic of my first HD, though. a 2000 1200 Custom that I got myself as an Xmas present.
The color was SO totally wrong for me, but a great bike anyway.

Wish I had a pic of my first bike! It was a 69 Honda CB160 with some home modified pipes, you know the hacksaw type! :/ had it to run a paper route and it run great till one day I was changing the oil and had to run down to the gulf station for some oil! That's when my brother came along and took it for a ride without any oil in it! OUCH!!!
