Vent that shop!
Well, it looks like my stupid is going to cause me a day or so in the hospital. My auto tune module wasn't working, so I called Chris at MGS to see if we could get it sorted out. The propane heater had it toasty in the garage, and I only ran the bike a few times for a few minutes. At least I thought it was just a few.
I went inside to get a cold beverage and got kinda woozy and nauseated. I shook it off and went back to the garage. By now Chris had gone home and the bike was still not right. I tinkered with it for a bit longer, all the while feeling like crap. I decided to call it a night and picked up the laptop to go inside. I walked over to turn the tunes off and collapsed. I was hurting, sick, and sure I was having a heart attack. I was scared and the only thing that saved me was the phone I had taken that allowed me to page the wife, who called 911.
And here I lay diagnosed with acute carbon monoxide poisoning. The doctor figures that my max was around 40ppm. After 4 hours on pure oxygen I was down to 26.
I know better and that's a first. Damn near a last too. Vent that garage.

They make this device called a CO monitor. Works well. My advice is to get a few with digital readouts to install in the house, garage, RV, or anything else around something that creates CO as a by product of combustion and you habitats.
Lucky is right and thanks for being brave enough to share your experience w/others. Sometimes we all need a reality check. Rest up & you'll soon be on the road again...
Happened to a buddy of mine while on a hunting trip couldnt sleep in the bed cause of his back so he sleep on the floor out in the great room. Guess the propane fridge was leaking. Found him in morn past out. Had to air lift him to the closet hospital was there for 7 days had to have blood transfusion. Also now has memory lose Liver problems and a bunch other issues. Docs cant figure out why he is still alive. Luckey guy.
Scary $hit. Glad you're ok. I work on my bike in a 10'x14' fully insulated/finished shed. I installed new AC the other day and flashed a new tune. Started and ran the bike for less than 60 seconds and had to leave the doors open for about 30 minutes to air it out. I think I'll get a monitor out there, just in case.
It was more than likely the propane heater than the bike. Next time raise the door about 4" or so. Those heaters are great on new construction or large areas. But deadly in small sealed spaces.
Glad your OK
