I AM TALKING ABOUT A LOW BACKFIRE POP AT THE START OF THE CRANKING OF THE MOTOR AND BEFORE IT STARTS. NINE TIMES IT WILL CRANK FOR SAY COUPLE THREE OR FOUR CRANKS AND START, MIXED IN ALL THOSE STARTS WILL BE ONE WITH A START WITH ONE CRANK OR SO AND A LOUD POP (BACKFIRE IN THE EXHAUST) AND CONTINUING CRANKING TWO OR SO MORE AND START JUST LIKE THE OTHER EIGHTS. THE POP HAS NO EFFECT ON THE CRANKING AND THEY ARE ALL THE SAME FAIRLY QUICK START UPS AND BIKE RUNS PERFECTLY NORMAL FROM 95 OR SO DOWN TO 40 (MY PREFERRED RIDING SEASON)
Another user and are trying to see if this is normal. Sorry about all caps.

Not normal for me. What bike is this on? What ever it is id start with a full tune up then check for codes. Clean the IAC also.

Mine does on occasion as well. Saw something similar in a different thread and the suggestion was as Soft 02 has stated. 1st thing to do is make sure the IAC is cleaned up.

This is definitely not normal IMO. Sounds like something fugged with the ignition. You're getting a rich mixture in the exhaust and then when ignition does occur the opening exhaust valve ignites it.

Mine does it on hot starts. On cold starts, she always starts fine but lets say you stop for gas and the restart her, she'll do that almost every time. I've found that if I give the throttle a twist, return it to neutral, and then start it, it won't happen.
