If you went more than 10 mph over the limit and got caught, pay the damned ticket. You gambled and lost.

First, you contributed NOTHING helpful to the thread, so you should've never posted anything to begin with. Second, you made a holier than thou statement and I commented on it. Shoulda been the end. Then you continued by explaining you have stones insinuating that those that dispute tickets have no ***** and are weasels? I think you are the one complaining with a guy on the internet.

Have I ever considered I shouldn't have a license? Nope. No reason I would. Never had anything happen to indicate I'm anything less than an exceptional driver and rider.

And no, speed doesn't kill Dumbass. Stupidity, lack of skills, and distractions kill. Speed can contribute.

Good day sir...I've wasted more time on this than it deserves.

Or if there is a clerical error b/c the cop was on vacation. Or maybe he just had one or two tickets slotted and he decided not to bother. So, there are reasons to get lucky, without the officer being in trouble. At least in Maryland. One time I had an officer write me two tickets b4 realizing he knew me and had promised me a "get out of jail free" card. He told me he couldn't un-write the tickets but to show up in court and he'd likely miss court, or at least would conveniently lose some paperwork so I'd get off.
Come on, brother. The scenarios you describe are bullshit. You're going to fight a ticket HOPING the cop just happens to be on vacation or just happens to get called off "court day" or there just happens to be a clerical error or he just decides to blow off "court day" on the day and time you just happen to be in court. Sure thing, dude. Most courts are in session on weekdays only. Meaning, most people have to take time off work to go to court hoping the cop won't show or hoping they'll be found not guilty. That's money out of pocket over and above the fine.

Let me get this straight; a cop pulls you over.... looks at you and tells you why he pulled you over.... asks for your license and insurance.... goes to his car and runs your license and plates for any outstanding warrants.... writes you two tickets (not just one).... takes them to you and you sign them and THEN HE RECOGNIZES YOU AND REALIZES HE KNOWS YOU! Is he your long lost cousin from a previous life? Where do you come up with this stuff?

Ahhhhhh... are you a fiction novelist?

OP: Go back at that hour and take photos IF the lines are not clearly seen from the location the officer observed you.

If the 30 zone is residential would you let 45 go?

Yeah it is. If I live on a street with a 30mph zone, I don't want ******** flying by nearly 50% faster than the posted limit. That means I have to deal with the extra noise, timing to leave my driveway, walk across the street etc. I live on a busy street, and those that abuse the speed limit are told or signaled to slow down.

Speed limits are there for a reason, ESPECIALLY in populated areas. Limited access highways are a whole 'nother discussion.

He said it was 3 am. I find it unlikely he knows exactly where the LEO was. Also, how is he going to prove IN A COURT OF LAW the pictures were taken from the EXACT spot the officer was? If he saw the LEO to know where he was he probably would have slowed down and not been stopped for speeding.

Besides, the visibility of the lines in the road may change when the headlight of a vehicle shines on it.

Nothing is arbitrary in court. **** you can't prove is circumstantial evidence. **** you say that you can't prove is hearsay.

Sorry guys.... just being the devil's advocate. The county prosecutor isn't going to roll over and play dead. His/her salary is dependent on collecting fines. The judge's too.

No fiction, but thanks (I think)
I know cops. I've known cops in the past. I've been to court a few (clearing throat) times. I've rarely lost any work money for showing up to court. Never had a lawyer. The fine is ALWAYS lower than face value. I've had cops fail to show up close to a dozen times. I've been offered school, and PBJ's. In the example I gave I was visiting a friend at a Fire Station and a cop stopped by to wash his car. We started talking, I helped him wash his cruiser, he told me where he usually patrols, and I joked that I'd see him in a few weeks. He said to let him know and he'd let me go. Low and behold he did pull me over. I wasn't sure it was him till after he wrote the tickets. The long version is even funnier and sounds even more like fiction, but I assure you it is not.

Dude,

LMFAO I'm guessing you're still clearing your throat. Been to court a FEW times? You've had cops fails to show "close to a dozen times". That means you've been to court more than that. Talk about a chronic offender.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that your court appearances aren't for failing to pay for parking tickets, driving with an expired vehicle inspection or your headlight was out.

Do me a favor; if you're driving down south take a detour around Texas. Ride safe man.

Why don't you let the OP answer instead of thinking you know all the facts and details?

Dude, you seriously do not know how to speed and not get caught. Which is pretty scary for you.

I think the Firebird and Camaro's I used to own were contributing factors.
Record is totally clear and I've had a "safe driver" discount for as long as
I can remember.

The OP doesn't have to answer. Let me state it a different way. The pictures would be circumstantial evidence and inadmissible in a court of law. They do not prove anything. The OP could not prove that the pictures were taken from the EXACT location of the officer and the OP could not prove the camera saw what the officer saw. Without proof it's circumstantial.

Everyone always thinks that if they just say this or just show that it's POOF and the case is thrown out. Remember, there's a prosecutor present. Think of the words, "I object, your honor." Why doesn't the OP just ask the judge to order the officer to get his vision checked too.

First off I know exactly where they sit. Second I watched them paint the lines. I go through there everyday twice a day . It's not a big deal. The point is the cops reaction time. Your clocking a moving vehicle over 100 ft I can guarantee . Any humans reaction time will be off . This is why they use lasers so when you cross the beams you get exact times speeds ect. This is the reason I want to fight the ticket. It's the principle
