I don't "preach" loud but I can't seem to leave anything alone when it comes to my bikes or hot rods. They all have great exhaust tones that are louder than stock.
My daily driven pickup (Dodge Ram Diesel) isn't stock either but it's a long way from "loud". The wife's car is bone stock and whisper quiet.
Note: My wife insisted that I make her bike a bit louder so it would actually 'sound like a Harley' but she also likes her nice quiet car.
Yes! When I bought my new F150, the first thing I did within two weeks was put a lift kit, larger off-road tires, and a new custom dual exhaust. My wife has said she could hear me coming from a mile away. I love hearing the sound of a V8 or a Harley...
Oh, and I don't preach loud nor do I think a bike has to have a loud exhaust to "be a bike". I am a firm believer in "to each his own". I make my bike, and my trucks, to be what "I" want them to be. I don't give a rats *** what everyone else does
My daily driver is a POS Ford Explorer. Making it louder is the last thing I want to do with it. And I think it's big enough that being visible to other drivers is not a problem. Now, I do have a 1991 911 Carrera. With the stock exhaust it has a pretty healthy sound, especially at wot, so I think I will leave it be.
My harley has a tts master tune with fullsak dx header and 2" cores, my 07 grizzly 700 atv has a vdi module & a full muzzy pipe, my 05 cummins dually has a bully dog programmer with a 4" straight pipe from the turbo back, my 2000 durango has the cat removed & a thrush straight thru muffler on it, and the wifes 2010 jk is about to get a cat back system.
