I had a car dealer tell me that they reserrve the right to install their name plate on the trunk and that they were going to do it before delivery. It was the kind that used rivets (back in 1969) I had ordered the car with special options and when I went to pick it up, there it was rivited on after I told them I didn't want it on there. They kept the car and I got my deposit back after an ordeal.[:@]
Same way I am TCSTD. Last new car I bought, while I was picking it up, I told them to take off their advertisement. He didn't give me any hassle, but did ask why. I told him, I don't mind at all telling anyone where I bought the car if they ask. But your not paying me to drive around with a free advertisment on the back of my car, so take it off.

Bought a van back in '85 and the dealer had written on the contract a statement saying, "I agree to display the (name of dealer) license plate on the front bumper forever." I got a kick out of it, signed the contract, and mailed the plate back to them the next day.
I waited 3 months for it to come it and then it sat at the dealer for 2 weeks in a crate! They were short handed in the shop and had a backlog of work.
Those 2 weeks were more painful than the whole 3 months!!! The dealer received a lot of "... how 'bout now???" phone calls during that 2 week period...
