yea im a little curious to see how its going to hold up too but i can only think of one way to find out. someone had to be the guine(good luck on spelling) pig. thanks for all the compliments so far. and the cam didnt just fall out i had to pull the cover off with two feet on the bike me sitting down and pulling with both hands. then when i looked at the cover it still had a cam on it. oh and the pipe wrap started off gray also.
At first look I didn't like it. Harleys are suppose to be chrome right?
But as I looked at the pics I realized that I liked the way it looks. It looks really cool. Was it chrome before you started? If so and the paint starts to flake off remove the cover again and sand blast it with Aluminum Oxide. This will lightly rough the surface and allow the paint to adhere better.
nothing i painted was chrome. the cam cover was like that light gray color and the rockers were polished something so i took some sand paper and brushed the surface for a little while then painted.
Personally thinks it looks perty good man. Heard of a guy here a while back painted his pipes withthe bbq paint because it is high heat tolerant. Don't know how hard of a finish it gets though. Might get chipped easily.
Looks good. That outer primary cover is begging for a coat of black now. Trust me, it will come off and go back on a lot easier than that cam cover did.
