I am trying to remove and replace my timing cover and whoever put the last on one stripped and the allen bolts and I am unable to remove them. Anyone out there have any tricks to getting these stripped bolts off?
Before boogering the screw head you should have soaked it with AeroKroil, overnight, and then used an impact driver with the proper sized bit.
Now, if hammering in a tight fitting Torx bit doesn't do it, you'll have to try drilling out the head for an EZ-Out or taking the head off completely and then grabbing the shank with ViseGrips once the cover is off.
if you have access to a hand held cut-off saw you could grind a common head slot
in the head then tap it going counter clockwise to see if the screw will loosen.
