I have been to dealers from Lancaster and York PA, to Mississippi in the past 12 years. It's my nature to always act like I wanna buy something in a new place, don't know why car dealers whatever ATV's...I like to test the wits of a salesman. I can count on 1 hand the number of asshat salesman I have run into. Wish I could say the same for service dept.
nearly every harley shop i have ever been into has been a good experience...sales, parts, and service. course old jerry jones' attitude could be rubbing off on the DFW dealers.
gruene harley in new braunfels is top notch in my book.
Damn I'm surprised @ yall's responses! I'd of thought everyone would have had the same experiences as me. I've spoke w/about 7 or 8 different 'salesmen' & they've all had attitudes. I'm a super laid back dude so I know it's not my attitude making them act that way. Can anyone suggest a good dealer to work w/in N. Texas or southern Oklahoma? I'm in the D/FW area.
Hey Tex, I hear ya, Id say try Longhorn, unless they might be one of the ones who rubbed you the wrong way. The ones I have been watching for a while are Allen and Euless..
Allen is under new ownership and has completely changed for the better than what it was 3-4 years ago.
Euless also is new ownership but have noticed they don't hear you if you tell them your not buying a bike right now, seems to be a little over bearing and they keep pushing.
All of them just have the same problem, they don't know how i happen to be, if i see it, and i want it, I buy it, but only on my terms an not theirs.
just a question op. do you spend money in these places or do you just ask questions all day and want to bs. they are there to make money sooooo if you are wasting their time and they learn who you are, that could be the problem. just saying.
kroozeabout.
My last experience:
Dealer had an '09 SG with a backrest, slip-ons & 11K miles. Price tag said $18,999. He made a low offer on my bike as a trade-in & he asked if that'll work for me. I asked what the price for the SG would be. He said "you know the price, it's on the tag. $18,999+ttl". He told me that was a great deal. He asked me what I thought would be a good price so I told him I thought it was a bit high & told him about the '11 SG on here for sale w/the 103" & a few other things for $16,850. He told me I was crazy!!! As in I was lying. He said a few other things about why I should pay him more for a motorcycle because the dealership throws parties on the weekend with free bands, they have free beer every day, etc. I asked him his best price on his SG & he told me $18,999+ttl then he walked off & left me standing there. Waited 20 minutes, he never came back to me so I left. To me that's a shitty attitude.

I've never spent more than 25 minutes in a HD dealership due to their attitudes. So no I'm not wasting their time all day.

It might be time to stand in the middle of the show room and ask if there is another salesman that is ready to sell a bike , the one you were talking to has just walked off and not come back. The owner of that place will not put up with employees being rude to potential customers. I hope you are able to find one you can deal with. But I did have to ask the question. I'm in sales but not motorcycles or cars.
