Damn I'm surprised @ yall's responses! I'd of thought everyone would have had the same experiences as me. I've spoke w/about 7 or 8 different 'salesmen' & they've all had attitudes. I'm a super laid back dude so I know it's not my attitude making them act that way. Can anyone suggest a good dealer to work w/in N. Texas or southern Oklahoma? I'm in the D/FW area.
You need to see Janice at Wind River Harley in Lawton Oklahoma. You will not find a better and more honest dealership.
Once while 325 miles away from home. My wife and I stopped in "Bikestown" Harley Davidson, in Youngstown, OH. Biggest Harley dealer I have ever seen!!! We just stopped to get off the bike for a while. I was checking out the Road Glide Ultras, the salesman strikes up a conversation. Next thing I know he has my license and is pushing a bike with 3 miles on it out the door for a test ride. Great stop, really great to deal with, and we didn't spend a dime.
Absolutely! I bought my road king at salem hd and had shipped to abq. The dealer here has some of the poorest management I've ever seen.
Funny that you say that. I've had very good luck there. My wife just bought a bike there last week and we had a very good experience. Luck of the draw I guess.
Over the past couple years I've been to 5 HD dealers looking @ bikes. Every salesman has had a crappy attitude!...

If you say so.
I have had a great relationship with my local dealer, Bartels HD, for nearly 25 years.
I went to the local one here in SoCal.....it's the biggest one in the world I think. It's a great place to look as their showroom is pretty dope. I guess I just had the luck of ending up with a sales guy who was so-so. I like to test them, not by being a jerk but by asking them questions I know answers to already. This guy failed. Also, he didn't tell me of other Harley events in the area (cause they were at other dealerships). Ok, I get that you want to keep me close to your dealership, but if a his salesmanship was good he would have had enough confidence in himself to send me elsewhere to "check stuff out". Then he drops the line of..."yeah iron 883's are so in demand there is just no give on pricing" - okay it's a typical line right? Ye Olde "demand-supply" one-liner. I also kept coming back - literally 4 days in a row to let him know I was a serious buyer. Each time I got there he just seemed to show less interest. Funny really.
I then go to another dealer and the guy treats me like gold and sticks to me for almost 2 hours to answer every question I had with patience and the humility of knowing that I'm a first time rider and that I need some obvious direction. The other sales people came to greet me from time to time and say hi, then their sales Manager spent some time with me and asked about my riding experience and gave me some tips.
Too bad for that last dealer.....I wasn't even thinking of going elsewhere and wanted to give them the biz - and 2 of my other buddies who are buying HD's with me. But I guess if you're thaaaat big of a dealer then you can charge premiums and get away with so-so customer service. My experience wasn't "bad"....but it just wasn't as good as the other.
Over the past couple years I've been to 5 HD dealers looking @ bikes. Every salesman has had a crappy attitude! They act like I should feel fortunate that their going to allow me to buy 1 of their motorcycles. Like they own the last glass of water in the world. What gives? Why do they all seem so arrogant and act like their **** don't stink?
Well, they do say everything is bigger in Texas right? So i would assume that would apply to egos as well.LOL Sorry, had to get that dig in.
All the dealers i have been to around here are all pretty cool. I have never had a problem with any of the salesmen being too pushy or arrogant. Most in fact ahve been pretty helpful.
