I would bet insurance is not any more in Idaho than it is in a Helmet state. Are you suggesting that you place a "dollar" value on your freedoms?
No dollar amount on your freedom, the dollar amount is on accepting your responsibility. Higher insurance to cover the higher chance to health damage due to head injury.
It should be about personal choice and freedom. But both those come with responsibility. A responsibility that your personal choices and freedoms may a have a long term impact on your loved ones. That a personal choice not wear a helmet, may increase the already high probability that your wife, your kids, your family, will be looking after you for the rest of your life. Will be changing your shitty diapers, bathing your shitty ***, spoon feeding you breakfast, lunch, and dinner, dressing and undressing you, and helping you in and out of bed.
I agree that it should be about personal choice and freedom, but don't ever think it is just about YOU! If one makes a decision with "eyes wide open" and is comfortable with the freedom to make that choice, then all the power to them. Ride on man!

Better not ride a motorcycle, go under a ladder, cross the train tracks, drive a car, get in a hot air balloon, go on an airplane, ride a bicycle, or leave your house might get killed...

are you sure about that? I would think there would be much more "lower cost" funerals.....either way...I would pay a little extra on my insurance for a no helmet option.
My understanding is....just like the Cali Buzz Law thread on loud pipes...there is no more personal responsibility. If I do not wear my helmet...I in fact will ruin it for everyone else somehow.....lol

Be carefull, the next logical step that many would love to take is to just "outlaw" those dangerous motorcycles. Nobody needs them anyhow.
It's common knowledge that anyone who chooses to not wear protection already has a brain injury and has nothing to lose anyway. It's my right to type this haha.
